Baby Max | Austin Newborn Photographer

A tender, overwhelming joy exudes from Bethany's eyes when she looks at her firstborn. Max is so lucky to have parents that love him so desperately. And who wouldn't? This precious little guy could melt a whole room.

It's so exciting to look at a newborn and think of the great big life ahead of him. The millions of words that will roll off those adorable lips one day. I can't wait to see it all unfold, baby Max!!

I have a whole new appreciation for newborns these days. With the anticipation of my niece coming in a few weeks and Julie's baby (gender unknown) just one month later, my heart flutters when I see an infant...let alone photograph them.

Ya'll enjoy these photos of Cody and Bethany's Max. Let them know how perfect he looks in the comments section!

Max's master carpenter grandfather made him this super fun rocking horse.

life lately

For me life lately has been FULL! Full of activity, full of work, full of parties...FULL!

It's nice from time to time to share with you what goes on in my life outside of our ERP work, and generally I'd refer you to follow my personal blog, but these days life's been full enough it's tough to document, so I'm a bit behind.

For now, here's a quick up date on some of the happenings of life lately:

Last month I traveled to The Big Apple with some of my very favorite people. My sister needed a girl trip before she heads into motherhood, so we took it as an opportunity to see the city. A couple of my close friends live and do life in New York, so I even got to visit loved ones. Amongst our activity was shopping at Bloomingdale's, H&M and Macy's, eating fabulous food, visiting Broadway Dance Center where my great friend Megan works and a night at the Gershwin to see my dear friend Katie in Wicked. Yeah you read that right, I have ridiculously talented friends. Megan nearly runs BDC (yep the one seen in the movies and on shows like SYTYCD) and Katie sure is the lead in Wicked. It was SO SO fun to see them both!

Another grand part of my life these days has been baby prep. No, I'm not pregnant! But there's a couple people REAL close to me preparing for little ones to come in the next month or so. So showering I have done! These are some shots from my sister's baby shower in our hometown.

These come from the shower we threw for her here in Austin. Isn't that cake adorable? My sweet niece's name is Maggie Beth.

Julie's baby comes just a week and a half after Maggie Beth so it was my pleasure to help host her shower the following weekend. I don't think I've ever been more excited about meeting someone. Seriously, this is going to be one of the best summers of my life!!

And finally, I wrapped up another semester of Bible study with the Texas Tri-Deltas. I love these ladies so much!! This semester it was particularly hard to say goodbye to my seniors. Sending them off every year isn't getting easier.

Welp, that's the quick update. I really do hope to catch up here soon. So check it out if you want to see more. Thanks for stopping by!

www | baby bows

So Jess usually writes the What to Wear Wednesday column because, to put it bluntly, I'm not that fashionable and I'm not really sure what anyone should wear. V-necks, jeans and flip-flops are my uniform of choice. They're nice, comfy and require no thought in the morning, which is good because it takes my brain a while to boot-up most days.

There is one fashion thing I do know though--baby girls should wear bows. Sometimes baby boys and girls are difficult to differentiate and bows are an instant fix, especially since no one likes being at the grocery store and hearing how handsome their little girl looks that day.

Since Evan and I aren't finding out the gender of our baby, I've been scouring Etsy looking for my favorite bows. I plan on having a small stock waiting in case we welcome a girl come July. So I wanted to share my favorites so far and see if I can get some help making some final decisions.

Here are my seven favorites. Help me decide which to get by telling me your favorite in the comments section!! Me and my (potential) girl really appreciate it!

Amy | Austin Senior Photography

I love shooting seniors. I remember so vividly what it felt like to make that huge transition (both from high school and college) and I LOVE when we get to spend time with folks at that life stage.

This senior was particularly special to document. You see, Amy's one of those girls that moms hope their sons will bring home or that their daughters will call best friend.Sweet Amy is a leader. Not only does she confidently stand up for what's right, but her precious gentleness draws others to her. Amy's so cool that people want to follow her. I really do consider it a blessing to know this woman, and I can't wait for the adventure ahead of her.

Amy graduates from Vista Ridge High School this month, and is headed to A&M next fall. I'm so proud of her for this giant milestone and can't wait to hear stories about what Aggieland brings her for the next several years.

Did I mention she's a knockout?

alexis | austin family photography

It was an overcast day on Lake Travis and aside from a few dedicated fisherman scattered throughout the lake, we were the only ones enjoying the morning by the water. I imagine for Alexis and her parents it's difficult to find moments not to enjoy. They are truly a fun loving family--excited to spend their morning together feeding ducks, wading in the water, building sand castles and having tickle fights. Alexis knows she's lucky too, which I always love seeing in a kid so young. When I asked her who the happiest person in the world is she proudly chimed Mommy is! then when asked about the world's best hugger Daddy! was her immediate reply. Her parents have done a wonderful job bringing joy to her life and the proof is written all over her precious smile.
