Kory + Lauren | Friendswood Wedding Photographer

I walked into the church I'd seen a hundred times that Saturday afternoon so humbled to be a part of such an incredible day. It felt different that day. Kory and Lauren had turned the church into a place of celebration. It was warm, fun and beautiful...and I don't mean because of the fabulous yellow flowers, adorable flower girls or great looking bridal party. The temperature in the church had everything to do with the way this couple loves each other.

When I think of Kory and Lauren, I'll always smile. Watching this Baylor Bear fall more in love with his Aggie fiance throughout their engagement has been a treat for us. Getting to see their families watch in awe as they became husband and wife was delightful. What I'd observed was confirmed as their loved ones spoke to their playful personalities and relationship during toasts.

Everything about their day was infused with personality. Each piece told a story.  This genius couple even  fashioned their wedding cake to match them. The cake was iced with DNA double helices instead of standard swirls. Atop their genetic dream cake was a personalized bobble head doll that matched the bride and groom...hilarious! I found myself knowing them better all day through the little things.

Of course one of the most notable parts of Kory and Lauren's wedding celebration was during their reception at the gorgeous White House Ranch. From their The way these two melted into each others arms on the dance floor was beautiful. You've maybe never seen a group of people celebrate so well. These two know how to have a good time, and their wedding day screamed it!

Kory and Lauren, I can't begin to tell you what a privilege it was to be a part of your wedding day. It was beautiful!

Maggie's Family | Austin Newborn Photographer

Walking into the Mezger's home, I immediately felt like I was with close friends. Alison has this incredible way of making  you feel comfortable and a part of her team. Just two weeks after she'd had her third child, dad was back at work and this mama was managing her house like a champ.

Of course, with precious kids like Owen, Rebecca and Maggie, I'm not sure how anyone could keep a smile off their face in this home. As Owen passionately told us all we would ever need to know about volcanoes, his little sister joyfully bounced around the room. Donning the adorable fireman rain boots she'd found, Rebecca hoped she'd be the next her brother gave his attention to. These two are priceless!

Next we got some quiet time with baby Maggie and her mama. I've never met a more perfectly peaceful eighteen day old baby. Maggie slept gracefully no matter where she was placed. Best was when her rowdy siblings came in and very gently kissed her sweet face. It was a perfect picture of this so fun and so sweet little family.

It's families like the Mezgers that make me so happy I do what I do.

life lately

Life for me lately has been a a lot about lists. I'm a list-maker by nature, generally at any point in the day I have about two or three different lists on my desk to help keep my thoughts organized. With a baby coming anytime in the next two weeks, my list making has gotten a bit extreme. All of a sudden my lists have categories and prioritization schemes and maybe its just nesting but it is certainly getting out of control.

Luckily, the lists are winding down and the day where we get to meet our precious baby is fast approaching! Evan keeps reminding me that we have done everything we need to do to bring a baby home, and all the things left on the list are icing on the cake which is very true. So in the spirit of embracing the icing on the cake mentality here is a list of all things I've been enjoying while waiting for the baby.

1. Frozen desserts--I've been figuring out ways to get at least a sno-cone, some frozen yogurt or ice cream almost everyday
2. Walks--Evan and I have been spending the evenings walking around the neighborhood at sunset
3. Crafts--I've started heat-embossing stamps, and lots of random projects for the nursery
4. Swimming--going to the pool makes me so happy
5. Netflix-there is something glorious about a lazy evening spent on the couch watching random tv shows

Our glider arrives tomorrow and then I'll take more nursery pics but until then here is one of the awesome bedding Evan's mom made for the baby. LOVE!

So our bags are packed and until then we'll just be sitting, waiting, wishing (and eating pineapple/coconut frozen yogurt!)

We can't wait to meet you little one!
