A weekend in Cajun country at Keith and Renee's is impossible to duplicate. I'm not sure if it's the chill of their beautiful brick floors, the memories I have from so many college visits or the ridiculous Louisiana food, but being in Lafayette is something I never want to miss.

When my dear Claire flew in from California for her first baby's shower, we were there without question. Being with these women is home for me. I know few people who celebrate better than us.

This sweet baby Elise is one blessed little doll. I literally cannot wait to meet her in two short months.  Joey and Claire will be the most fun parents I know. Elise is likely already partying in her mama's tummy. Living inside Claire has got to be a good time!

We were so sad not to see Joey that weekend, but I get excited just thinking about him becoming a dad. Rough tough Joey will be tied around his little girl's finger...but I'm sure she'll do anything to make her daddy happy - even if it means playin' football. Watching Claire's family celebrate LSU's victory over Tennessee that weekend proved that Elise will have plenty of support whatever she chooses.







Did I mention, this family loves football? Geaux Saints.









I sure do love you, my dear friend. I only wish there weren't so many miles between us. Can't wait to meet your baby girl!

Right before we left for Maryland, we got to spend a few quick moments hanging out with the lovely Sofia. We spent about 15-20 minutes getting a few pics for her senior ad and then spent some time just playing around, and by playing around I mean Sofia took some pictures of me laying in a cow field. Random.

This girl is so much fun and so down to earth. It's no surprise she was voted Homecoming Queen a few weeks back. Sofia, you're wonderful and we can't wait to see you again in the Spring!

I've known the Reichles longer than I've actually known the Reichles - though hearing about Amanda via my sister (her good friend and co-worker) could hardly prime me for my time with the fabulous Kevin and Amanda.

In the last year, Julie and I have been so fortunate to watch this couple turn into a family. When we walk into the Reichle's house, we feel at home. Kevin's peaceful nature and Amanda's eagerness to make us feel welcome has made photographing their family a dream for us. Their baby girl is blessed to be born into such an outstanding life. She is loved! And if the glow in her grin is any indication - she knows it!

Sweet Addison's adorable brown eyes could make a glacier melt. With or without a smile, this girl's got power in her stare. We knew Addi would be cute when she was born, but by the day this little girl becomes more and more beautiful.

As we explored Annapolis yesterday and watched the sunset out the airplane window last night, I thought of how many exciting events we've done together. I am so extraordinarily blessed to do life beside this woman. When I think of God's provision to David in Jonathon, my eyes begin to sting and the crocodile tears fall because of how familiar that feels to me.

If I could tell you how much I value Julie, I'm certain I would run out of words. Using up all the words I know wouldn't suffice. If I imagine my life without her, I get not only sad - but terrified.

Julie, you have this unique ability to make everything ok for me. When life feels out of control your steady, kind, love and presence bring me peace. So many areas of my life would be lacking without you, dear friend. I'm so so thankful that you and Evan love me so well. I know Jesus better because you're in my life. I love you tons and tons!

The night Gina and Ian told us they were expecting caught me completely off guard. It caught me so off guard that they repeated it three times before I finally turned to look at them, see the reality in their eyes and then explode into a ball of jumping, squealing excitement. Now I get a front row seat to watch two of my very dear friends transform into parents: mom and dad.

There is this look that Ian gets when he talks about his son that speaks not only of his anticipation, but also of this strong, sweet love he already has for that baby boy and every time I see that look it gets me. Then there's Gina. Her college roommate nickname was mom. She is thoughtful, nurturing, and knows how to comfort and care for people like few can. Anyone who knows them both knows this baby is lucky.

So many people dream about living down the road from their best friends, living life together, and raising families together and that actually gets to be my reality. I'm so blessed to have these two in my life, so ready to meet little Sawyer in December and so glad that they took the plunge first! Can you say hand-me-downs?
