Courtney & Benton Rehearsal Dinner

Sixth street was as busy as ever the night before Courtney and Benton's beautiful wedding, but the best party downtown was definitely the one they were having at Parkside to celebrate their impending union.

Being a part of a rehearsal dinner is such a treat. Watching friends and family honor one another with gifts and words that are unique to an occasion as blessed as this is so special. These are the snapshots that make life great. So when my friend Benton asked me to document their rehearsal dinner, I was so excited.

Between their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, Courtney and Benton gave us a little time to get some great photos of the two of them downtown. I love seeing the way these two look at one another the evening before they commit to forever together.

If you're looking for a great party spot, Parkside is where it's at. The food and atmosphere were off the charts.

Thanks so much, Landers, for including me in such a special night!

Berkeley & Freddie | Austin Engagement Photographer

She grew up in Austin, and though she ended up at TCU, this Texas beauty knew little more than Longhorn pride as a child. Berkeley's family loves the Horns and would never have imagined that they would eventually feel so pleased to welcome an Aggie into their family.

Of course that didn't come right away. When they started dating, Berkeley made it clear that until she heard wedding bells, she wouldn't be donning any maroon and white. Berkeley and Freddie would spend Thanksgiving day on opposite cheering squads until...

This last Thanksgiving Freddie decided he was ready for the woman he loves to switch teams. With her proposal, Freddie gave Berkeley more than an engagement ring.

As you can imagine, Berkeley's family was surprised and excited to see their little girl walk into their game day watch party in a maroon jersey.

We may be a little bias, but we think she made the right choice. #WHOOP!

Now Julie and I get to work with a lot of outstanding couples. Our clients really are the best of the best. But unless you're Julie and I, rarely do you meet a couple as beautiful on the outside as they are inside.

Berkeley and Freddie are just that. His charm and her beauty made this shoot one for the books. But my favorite thing about these two is how genuinely down to earth they are.

I had such a good time getting to know Berkeley and Freddie, and I left feeling like I had made two  new, dear friends.

lauren and kory | mound engagement photography

Heading down the back dirt roads of Texas toward Mound, I was filled with a sense of eager anticipation. There are few things I enjoy more than driving across the landscape of Texas, watching fields of cattle pass by with the wind gently whipping back and forth through the windows and the warm sun beaming across the dash. We were following Lauren and Kory to a place that I knew was very special to them. Kory's family had been in Mound for generations, establishing the Mound post office and serving as an integral part of the town's tiny population for years. We spent the afternoon on the family ranch and it was easy to see why Mound was so dear to their hearts.

It was also easy to see that Lauren and Kory are perfect for each other. There are obvious things that make them compatible, they're both brilliant, playful, down to earth, dog lovers, but that's not what I'm talking about. Lauren and Kory have something much more special and intangible. When they're together, they radiate. They can't get within two feet of each other without smiling. They bring out life in one another. The warmth and joy between them is so strong you can't be near them without feeling it too. They're so very blessed to have each other.

We loved getting to know you two and cannot wait for your wedding!

We may have to ban dogs this adorable from coming on shoots, because otherwise I am going to end up  buying a puppy.

Lauren, you are GORGEOUS!
Not sure what it is, but I just love this one.

erika & kyle | austin engagement photography

Sitting on the sidelines of this love story has been humbling, challenging and something for which I'm so grateful. The day Erika told me about this boy from Abilene, I watched her eyes begin to light up.

In the last two years, that glow has grown into real life love.

If you know Erika and Kyle, you've seen what love really looks like. You've seen what it means to take risks for someone you love.  You recognize what it is to sacrifice in order to be together. You've seen selfless hard work and perseverance...and lets be honest...when their eyes meet, you've maybe even seen actual sparks fly.

Watching my adventure loving friend fall in love with this man who, after a hard day's work, would rather sleep under the stars than in the Four Seasons, has literally been one of the greater blessings of my life. I've learned so much about what love really means from these two.

It was a pleasure to document this season of life for them. We had such a good time shooting Erika and Kyle out at McKinney Falls. They were pretty easy to make look good.

Enjoy!
