adam & erin (part 1) | maryland wedding photography

As friends and family from around the country crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Kent Island, they brought with them stories–stories of Adam and Erin. The stories of Erin were marked with her compassion, her supportiveness, her forgiveness, her steadfastness and her dislike of cooking. The stories of Adam were filled with his passion, his leadership, his perseverance, his loyalty and his love of cooking for Erin,. The stories of them together began when her mom set them up. They ended with friends praising their love and defending who was luckier to get to marry whom, with tear filled eyes attesting to their sincerity. However, the stories I enjoyed the most during the weekend, were those without words, spoken in glances and smiles and intertwining hands. The story Adam and Erin told without words was that they both felt like they were the lucky one. I think they're both right.

We were so blessed to share in celebrating your marriage! We're so happy for you both!

Enjoy the getting ready pics (personalized with an editing style just for Erin) and check back later this week for part 2.

I believe I described Adam as smoldering and was ridiculed for it, but I'm not taking it back.

I adore the way Erin's dad looked at her that day.

geoff & erin | austin engagement photography

There is something about finding your soulmate that transforms your very core. It's not that they make you different, it's that that they make you more yourself that you've ever been. That's how Geoff and Erin have been from the beginning. From the first time they met, exchanging thoughts on medieval culture, their love for each other has amplified all of their best qualities. It's amazing to see two people who were already so caring, and smart, and adventurous, and passionate become even more so just by finding each other. Being around them is simply a beautiful thing.

Geoff and Erin, knowing you both is a deep blessing and we're so excited for you to get married!

I've been struggling with a bit of indecisiveness today...so–extra pictures!

sunny and jack | austin family photography

On an overcast and dreary morning in downtown Austin, we found instant energy and refreshment in Sunny and Jack. These two siblings share more than just genetics. They're both fun, easy going and incredibly thoughtful. I love seeing siblings that have grown into friends. It's such a unique relationship marked by an unparalleled level of mutual history and understanding. We had a great morning with them–playing 52 card pick-up, reminiscing over childhood, grazing through the farmer's market, dodging rain and enjoying a little sibling rivalry over a fame of football. Thanks for being such great sports about the weather. You guys are great and I hope your parents love their gift!

the gillians | austin family photography

Becca and Jacob are, in a word, delightful. Luckily, I get to use more than one word, so I'll also throw in adorable, funny, kind-hearted, joyful and talented. It's no wonder that this brother-sister duo was approached to move into the world of acting. We had a great time taking some headshots for these two and it was amazing to see how natural such young kids can be in front of the camera. Break a leg you guys! We think you guys are wonderful!

editing mix | issue 2

musicbanner

There has been a lot, and boy I do mean a lot of editing going on around here lately. We're on the verge of finishing about 6 shoots all at once and then getting to start on 3 more that we're shooting this week. All that adds up to the very sincere need for some good playlists. So here is what we've been listening to lately:

Matt and Kim (for when I need a happy pick-me-up)

The Temper Trap (really I like to just listen to Sweet Disposition on repeat, it pumps me up!)
temper trap

Matt Costa (for some upbeat music to fill my silence)

Elizabethtown Soundtrack: (an old favorite, a little Elton John, Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, Wheat etc. -I can pretty much always enjoy listening to this one)

Thank the Lord for the joy of music. My days would be much tougher without it.
