birthday party | austin family photography

We spent a gorgeous afternoon celebrating sweet Stella turning one! Her mom poured so much love into the day, handmaking decor and party favors and ensuring that there was something to entertain guest of all ages. Everyone had a wonderful time, especially the guest of honor who was surrounded by friends and family and smeared with birthday cake! Happy birthday sweet girl!

Mikala + Luke | Houston Wedding Photographer

Guess what...This is our 100th blog post!! I think a celebration is in order. Throw on your summer duds and head out to the scorching heat to party!

Or if you'd rather keep your skin, stay right here and celebrate by reading about this lovely couple and their WEDDING DAY!

She told me her favorite color was red. She also let me know that their first dance would be worth capturing on camera. Though she may have mentioned that she loved her groom, nothing would prepare me for how Mikala looks at Luke. The way this couple loves one another is evident in so much more than their super fun first dance complete with a beautifully rehearsed dip to finish it off.

Photographing the union of these two gave me a physical image of sweet contentment. Mikala and Luke were made to fit perfectly in each others arms. At just a glimpse of this new family anyone would tell you, they belong together.

In addition, this whole crew knows how to enjoy life, and they graciously invite others to experience it with them. Mikala and Luke's family and friends exude overwhelming kindness that made me feel so welcomed and loved. Thank you, M+L, for including me into your big day!

The red roses abounding were hardly the most beautiful thing on the alter July 15, 2011. I think you'll agree, Mikala and Luke are gorgeous!

Kory + Lauren | Friendswood Wedding Photographer

I walked into the church I'd seen a hundred times that Saturday afternoon so humbled to be a part of such an incredible day. It felt different that day. Kory and Lauren had turned the church into a place of celebration. It was warm, fun and beautiful...and I don't mean because of the fabulous yellow flowers, adorable flower girls or great looking bridal party. The temperature in the church had everything to do with the way this couple loves each other.

When I think of Kory and Lauren, I'll always smile. Watching this Baylor Bear fall more in love with his Aggie fiance throughout their engagement has been a treat for us. Getting to see their families watch in awe as they became husband and wife was delightful. What I'd observed was confirmed as their loved ones spoke to their playful personalities and relationship during toasts.

Everything about their day was infused with personality. Each piece told a story.  This genius couple even  fashioned their wedding cake to match them. The cake was iced with DNA double helices instead of standard swirls. Atop their genetic dream cake was a personalized bobble head doll that matched the bride and groom...hilarious! I found myself knowing them better all day through the little things.

Of course one of the most notable parts of Kory and Lauren's wedding celebration was during their reception at the gorgeous White House Ranch. From their The way these two melted into each others arms on the dance floor was beautiful. You've maybe never seen a group of people celebrate so well. These two know how to have a good time, and their wedding day screamed it!

Kory and Lauren, I can't begin to tell you what a privilege it was to be a part of your wedding day. It was beautiful!
